Old Nazis Don't Die, They Just Become Zombies In The Horror Hoot That Has Become A Worldwide Sensation. When a Group of Medical Students Go on a Ski Trip They Discover That Navigating the Slopes Is the Least of Their Problems. This Shockingly Original Thriller Claws Its Way to Blu-ray and 2-Disc DVD on February 23, 2010.
Ah, vacation in the Norwegian Alps! Sun, snow, skis, hot tubs and ... Nazi zombies?! That's the frightening reality for a group of young partyers who encounter mayhem in the mountains in DEAD SNOW, the new cult classic that has drawn laughs and gasps in equal numbers in theaters around the world. It comes to Blu-ray and Special Edition DVD from IFC Films and MPI Media Group on February 23, 2010. The bonus-filled Blu-ray disc has an SRP of $29.98; the double-disc DVD is $24.98.
Get ready for the film that shocked Sundance, rocked Europe and knocked American horror fans out of their seats. When a group of medical students take a sex-and-booze-fueled ski vacation to a remote cabin in the scenic Norwegian Alps, they uncover a dark secret from World War II. After arriving at a remote cabin and unpacking their beer and ski gear, the students are visited by a suspicious hiker, who tells them that during the war, Nazis occupying the area were driven by the locals deep into the mountains and were presumed to have frozen to death there. But the vacationers discover that there's indeed something stirring out there, and it's not long before they are confronted by a battalion of uncontrollable, unstoppable and extremely undead Nazis.
What follows is a blitzkrieg of bloodshed, body parts and action-packed zombie carnage that The New York Observer hailed as "relentless thrills, unimaginable horrors and a shock ending guaranteed to make you scream out loud!" Writer-director Tommy Wirkola spares no amount of flesh-chomping, intestine-ripping and chainsaw-slicing to deliver perhaps the finest Nazi zombie movie of our time and one of the most ferocious, outrageous and over-the-top horror hits of the year!
DEAD SNOW was named to Entertainment Weekly's Top 25 Zombie Films of All Time list, and to the Boston Globe's list of the Top 20 Zombie Films of All Time. The New York Post called it "a real scream!" and Rolling Stone said, "There is a storm of scary fun to be had in this splatterfest."
Orjan Gamst stars as the lead Nazi zombie, Colonel Herzog; the young cast also includes Vegar Hoel, Stig Frode Henriksen, Charlotte Frogner, Jenny Skavlan and Jeppe Beck Laursen.
DEAD SNOW will be available on fully packed Blu-ray and double-disc DVD, containing such bonus features as: Behind Dead Snow (behind the scenes), Special make-up effects of Dead Snow, Theatrical trailer, madness in the north! (making of/behind the scenes), madness in the west! (cast & crew fly to Sundance for premiere), outtakes, burning the cabin, the sounds of Dead Snow.
