Return Of The Green Goblins. Nashville based horror host Dr. Gangrene returns with another batch of Go Green With Dr. Gangrene shorts. The new shorts entitled Werewolf Of Nashville and Summer Of The Mummy are a loving nod to classic horror movies with a public service mindset and wink of deadpan comedy. They pit Dr. Gangrene (played by Larry Underwood) against a 3000 year old mummy in need of sunscreen, and a pet wolfman who needs to relieve himself while playing in the park. The new entries are a collaboration between Underwood and Director Cameron McCasland.
Larry Underwood said of these freshly made shorts It was great to be able to use a couple of the classic horror icons to help promote environmental safety. What could be better than environmentally enlightened monsters? These were a lot of fun to make and were shot on location at one of Nashville's landmarks, the Pathenon museum.
Last years Go Green shorts were met with much acclaim and garnered commendations from Tennessee governor Phil Bredesn and Nashville's Mayor and City Council as well as eight national awards including an Emmy nomination for McCasland and a special Public Service award at the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards.
The shorts will be airing locally in Nashville on WNAB CW 58, as well as at film festivals around the globe, and online at Dr Gangrenes youtube channel youtube.com/drgangrene
