I SP Terror Fantastic International Film Festival, is a competitive festival which aims to introduce to Brazil the very best of Genre Cinema from all over the world, in all its diversity.
From big budget films to independents, from classic to experimental, from cult to contemporary.
Sao Paulo is the epicenter of the distribution industry in Brazil, a huge and strong territory. SP TERROR will be offering filmmakers and film fans alike an ideal setting in of one of the most populated cities in the world, with the highest percentage of young urban and cosmopolitan youth, I SP TERROR aims to draw in over 10,000 attendees. Both established and emerging filmmakers are certain to gain media exposure, connect with the region's diverse audiences, and participate in an acclaimed event which will be attended by industry as well as celebrated luminaries.
The Festival is organized by a group of professional enthusiasts in partnership with several public and private entities, such as MTV, O Estado Newspapers, Rock Communications.
The first edition will take place at Reserva Cultural, the most prestigious cinema in Sao Paulo, situated at Avenida Paulista, the city landmark and nominated the Best Cinema in Sao Paulo. The festival has four main official sections,:
- International Official Competition- Showcasing the most representative contemporary productions from around the globe.
- Iberoamerican Competition-focusing on the most representative productions from Iberoamerican countries .
- Short Films - Horror in the short film format from around the world.
Retrospective - Tribute to great Masters and themed based retrospective.
The festival encourages and will consider other cinematic proposals outside the scope of these sections, for eventual retrospectives or special screenings.
Our definition of the Fantastic is very broad.
We invite you to send us your latest productions (from 2006-2009 either short or feature films) for pre-selection to these official sections.
