Robbie Curran Heads For The Island
Rehan Malik's upcoming horror flick "Island", strongly influenced from the 1954 novel Lord of the Flies, is set to focus on the nature of mental health and it's role in a broken society. Young British actor Robbie Curran, who is currently studying Drama at the University of Birmingham, will play Max – a character based on "Piggy" from the famous novel.
Max will experience emotional and psychological troubles throughout the course of the film and Curran, who as a child was diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome, will star in the important role.
Curran managed to beat out professional actors for the part including Skins' Merveille Lukeba. Filming took place in August 2011 and Island will premiere in London in December.

Plot Outline:
Set during a nuclear disaster, a group of students are trapped in a school. While some desire to build a new society, a few attempt to subvert the situation for their own purposes.
