Survivant(s) On DVD Spring 2009 8 Contestants One Winner
France, year 2014. To resolve a problem of prison overpopulation, the new totalitarian government announces that it supports openly the production of a new real TV show. In this show, 8 condemned to death prisoners are selected and locked into a disused military experiment factory infested with zombies. They must find the exit within 2 hours, but a single survivor can leave the building and recover his freedom...
A 100% ACTION FILM FILLED WITH MANY TWISTS
SURVIVANT(S) is the last short film directed by young french filmmaker Vincent Lecrocq (who directed an ambitious 14 min war drama entitled THEY WERE IN NORMANDY in 2007). Vincent Lecrocq proposes a futuristic survival filled with action. In SURVIVANT(S) a group of condemned to death prisoners are used as fair game for mutant creatures thristy for flesh and blood in a sadistic real TV show. The action scenes are rough and violent without falling into the exagerreted gory style. Every character tries to survive on his own : alliance, murders, lies, betrayal... SURVIVANT(S) is filled with many twists until the ending credits.
A CASTING OF YOUNG ACTORS IN FULL ASCENT
Alysson Paradis, who played the main character in Alexandre Bustillo/Julien Maury's slasher INSIDE is the female leading role Halia, a young woman condemned for having made an illegal child. Alysson Paradis brings an emotionnal touch and a complete physical investment in the film. At present, she is one of the most rising actress in France.
Salem Kali, seen in Philippe Haim's thriller SECRET DEFENSE is the male leading role Yasser, a former soldier condemned for being a terrorist. Winner of the French Kungfu Championship in 2004, Salem Kali become the prisoners leader with a complete emotionnal and physical investment in the action scenes.
Alaa Oumouzoune, who recently played in Jeff Nachmanoff's TRAITOR with Guy Pearce and Don Cheadle plays Daniel, a dangerous raper and murderer. Alaa Oumouzoune will soon play roles in FROM PARIS WITH LOVE (a new thriller by TAKEN director Pierre Morel starring John Travolta) and in the DISTRICT B-13 sequel, both produced by Luc Besson (producer of THE TRANSPORTER trilogy). His character is a badly crazy psychopath who enjoys the game. Winner of the Taekwonmudo World Championship in Morocco in 2002 and due to his stuntman abilities, Alaa Oumouzoune is also the fight coordinator of SURVIVANT(S).
In SURVIVANT(S), the other contestants are played by Héléna Soubeyrand (TAKEN), Sarah-Laure Estragnat, Santi Sudaros (who appeared with famous actor Jet Li in DANNY THE DOG), Vincent Ceus, Mylène Ragon and Samuel Paploray.
LET THE GAME BEGIN
Produced by Vincent Lecrocq with sponsorship help, SURVIVANT(S) was shot in january 2008 in a disused factory near Paris, France. The film is now being in post production. Foreseen at first to be screened in short film projections and festivals, SURVIVANT(S) will be also released on DVD, in Spring 2009.
